She just put on a strong display at Wimbledon but a wrist injury retired her from the tournament in the first round.
Maria Sharapova found a good way to recover as she set off for a Mediterranean vacation on the coast of Italy.
The tennis star 32, was seen lounging sea side in a red string bikini on Wednesday.
She wasn’t afraid to take the plunge as she dove arms first into the water.
After cooling off with a dip she headed back to land to lounge on her towel.
The blonde beauty moved back to a lounge chair covered with some shade while she dried off.
Maria won the Wimbledon championship in 2004 but has been plagued by injury as of late.
The England tournament was only her second since January after she played in the Mallorca Open last month.
‘I’ve had a history of a tendon in my left forearm flaring up,’ Sharapova said. ‘It happened today in the second set. I probably couldn’t have gotten through the whole final set, but I did my best.’
